Name that Song!

Windmill, Windmill for the land.
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all there on your stride
It is tinking, falling down
Love forever love is free
Let’s turn forever you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

I’ve shared before about my love of quotes and I like to pretend I know a little somethin’ somethin’ about playing around with typography.  All that said, with a little help from Pandora spinning some great tunes on my “Save a Prayer” radio station (love me some Duran Duran), this was inspired.

Still don’t recognize the song? Well HERE is a little video of the Gorillaz to jog your memory.

Good luck with the whole “I refuse to dance in my chair” thing. 🙂

Quote of the Day: Yves Saint Laurent

I can spend an incredibly long time deciding on a card, especially for birthdays, for a multitude of reasons:

A) There are a bazillion to choose from…

B) I’m that obnoxious person that wants to listen to every singing card, even though it says right on the sign what song it will sing…

C) The sentiment is important–but so is the aesthetic.  An ugly card with a good message is, well, still an ugly card…

D) I get hooked with the Hallmark coupon they always have available on the aisle that gets you a free card when you by so three.  Just take the time an excessively slow card picker needs to pick cards and multiply it by four… ridiculous!

Anyways, with the plethora of May birthdays, I opted for a new tactic and searched out quotes (read about my quote love HERE) that reminded me of a certain dear friend and created this…

Scaled to 5 x 7 and printed on card stock, it made an easy card and with a blank interior, I could write my own message.

Adventures in Typography meets Quote of the Day

I love a good quote.  I’m one of those people who actually thought long and hard about buying some Quote of the Day toilet paper (I spotted it years ago in a catalog… a quick Google search did find me this design very appropriate for my birthday tomorrow!)  Quotes line my cubicle walls.  They end up scrawled on the back of my hand.  I even memorize quotes of the red letter variety.

A quote can clarify a muddled state of mind.

I spotted this gem in a friend’s Facebook status.  Call it serendipitous but I think it was a sign, especially after several conversations with separate friends about discipline (or lack thereof).  This colorway customized for my favorite lady over at Dasheen Magazine!
