Cupcake Invitations

Nothing makes me quite as happy as a project that involves glitter, so when my friend, Lily, asked me to make some invitations for her daughter’s first birthday I was SO on board.  Their favorite book to read is You Are My Little Cupcake by Amy Sklansky and Lily wanted to theme the party with the illustrations in mind.

I started rooting around in the bottomless pit craft closet…  which led to pillaging the pantry followed up by a trip to Michaels…

I used my small heart punch to use up the glitter paper scraps to make confetti for inside the cards…

Snipped the silver foil cupcake liners into four then cut off the bottom section…

I used some scrap cardboard to cut a template for the cupcakes top the cut out 40 of those bad boys…

Then came time to decorate the cupcakes, and I mean, that’s really the best part right?

For the insides I used the larger heart punch then attached the hearts to brads…2013-01-05 21.53.31

and added a yellow liner to the inside…  Of course, I forgot to take a picture of small hole I punched through the yellow and white card stock…  I sent sheets of vellum for her to print out the party details and attach on top of the yellow background with the heart brads.

The card part was simple, just 8.5×11 inch white cardstock cut down the middle, folded and a little trimming with a corner rounder.

So what do you think?  They sorta make me hungry….
