Project Life: Week 1

Over the last year in the blogiverse, I discovered Project Life and fell in love.  Project life, created by Becky Higgins, is the perfect combination of journaling and scrapbooking.  After watching one of my favorite bloggers, Elise Blaha Cripe, power through 2012, I was hooked.  THEN, Elise created the Seafoam Core Kit and I couldn’t stop myself.

Nearly every New Years morning, I watch the sunrise at the beach. It just seemed fitting to fill the title page with my first glimpse of the new year.

Then I filled up my “Week 1” spread…

I added Martha Stewart labels for a little journaling on some of the photos.  That my aunt Mille and my cousin Sharayah… it was her first time for a New Year sunrise!  I saved the cup from my first Starbucks of the year, washed it out and cropped it down and slid it into the bottom right slot with some washi tape to create lines for a bit of writing.  On the bottom left is the inside of a sweet card from a friend.  The quote card was a free download from Elise’s site.

From left to right, top to bottom: the first meal I cooked in the new year – Curry turkey breast and broccoli, I used the scraps from the cupcake invite project to make a fun graphic card, a snapshot of my first freebie calendar wallpaper design offered on my blog, “finter” skies, a new knitting project, the final product in the cupcake design project for my besties baby girls first birthday, I made a diagonal stripe card for some journaling and that is the turkey soup that swallowed my phone a split second after I snapped this shot.

I’m so excited about this project (and the arrival of my core kit) that keeping it up will be a fun habit to keep!
